Being an outdoorsman and naturalist, and having travelled extensively out west, I was always drawn to the natural beauty of the deer antler and some of the beautiful Native American craft that incorporates the deer antler into its art. As I became more involved in basket weaving, I wanted to create a basket that went beyond using the antler as a decorative piece. My vision was to have the antler and basket "become one".
